National Suicide Prevention Week: Remaining Positive

I've always hated those lists that try to tell you how to be happy. First of all, happiness is not something that can be achieved by checking off a bunch of boxes that were written by a complete stranger. Second of all, happiness means something different for everyone. For some, it's a journey; for others, it's a destination.

So, I promise to all you readers out there that this is not going to be one of those lists. In all honesty, I don't know the first thing about happiness. I struggle with finding joy in things on a daily basis. But in my 19.8 years on this planet, I've found some strategies to remain positive in the very least. These work for me, and they may or may not work for you. If they don't apply to your life, don't worry: I've layered them atop some of my favorite pictures to bring you at least a little joy.
