The Oregon Coast

As I mentioned on Monday, I love the Oregon Coast. I was born near Cannon Beach and grew up going back to visit family. I was very glad to be able to go back for the 4th of July.

Cannon Beach was surprisingly sunny on the 4th. I've only ever been to this beach on a sunny day a couple times in my life. Of course, Haystack Rock was shrouded in fog, as was most of the lower beach area. Still, it was a nice day, and it felt like a real beach for once.

This was my first time taking Luxe to the beach, and she loved it! She spent the day galloping around the beach and she even wandered into the ocean for a bit. This was particularly surprising considering she notoriously despises water.

Isn't my boyfriend a hunk? Fun fact: my mom sewed these shorts herself, and Brendan and I actually have matching ones.

I loved my Independence Day outfit! I wore red lipstick, a white homemade flower crown, and a blue dress. I also wore this necklace that belonged to my grandma who started the Cannon Beach parade engraved with her name and my middle name: Leah.

I love the Oregon Coast because it sees such a variety of kinds of beaches. This beach at Depoe Bay looks nothing like the beach at Cannon Beach!

Luxe was being a great lil adventure dog!

This beach only comes out during low tide, leaving it underwater for most of the day.
