OOTD: Grad Announcements

So, I know I already graduated... But I'm back for more. My college only has one commencement ceremony a year, so I'm headed back to Seattle in June to walk with the rest of my class. I already have my diploma and an internship, so I'm feeling pretty good for someone who doesn't walk the stage for another month.

Seeing as I'm not in Seattle, throwing together photos for my grad announcements took a little more effort. My cap and gown are waiting for me in Seattle, so I borrowed my friend Corina's for the weekend. I wouldn't be able to take pictures on campus, so I leaned into my status as a New York resident. You can see the Manhattan skyline from my roof (including the Empire State Building), so I took my pictures up there to highlight where I'm at right now.

Of COURSE Luxe got in on my graduation shoot! She accompanied me to all of my classes sophomore-junior year, so she's pretty much an honorary graduate.

ConGRADulations to all my fellow graduates from the class of 2017!

Everyday Jewelry

As I'm sure some of you have noticed, there are a couple pieces of jewelry that I am always wearing. Each piece has meaning or purpose; some have both. You may have seen them in person or in blog posts. I never link similar pieces in my OOTDs because they're such a regular part of my look that I honestly often forget I'm wearing them. So, I've decided to give a little background on each piece of jewelry that I wear every day.

I got this Invicta diving watch last year for my birthday. Because it's a diving watch, it's waterproof, which means I never have to take it off. In fact, the only time I remove it is when I'm dressing up.

My trusty black hair tie counts as a piece of jewelry, right?

I got both this ring and bracelet from my mom, who got them from a Eugene street fair when she was in high school. I'm very impressed they've held up this long, especially as I've worn them every day since I was in high school.

Emily gave me this bracelet a couple years ago for my birthday. It says, "She believed she could, so she did." It's really quite an honor that she thinks I can do whatever I put my mind to.

The year after our year in Spain, Francesca sent me a bracelet with the coordinates of our bus stop in downtown Málaga. She had a matching one, so we could be reminded of each other every time we wear it. I wore it every day until I lost it inner-tubing. Luckily, Francesca lost hers around the same time, so I ordered us new matching ones with the coordinates of our bus stop near our host families' houses.

OOTD: Urban Wonderland

I've been waiting to wear this outfit for at least a month, and it's finally warm enough outside for me to go without tights or a jacket! This green dress is one of my favorite layering pieces: I wear it over pants, dresses, and leggings. It's also one of my favorite semi-neutral colors to wear; I have so much olive green in my closet.

OOTD: J & J Forever

Two weeks ago, my cousin Jenny married the love of her life. I was so fortunate to be able to join them and celebrate their love with some of my favorite people in the world: my family and Brendan. We dressed ourselves to the nines and spent the evening dancing and eating and generally having a good time.

I spent months searching for the perfect dress and accessories. After all, it's not every day that your closest cousin gets married! I finally found a dress from ASOS after some non-response on Poshmark. I actually ended up getting a different dress from the website than I'd ordered, but at least it was still red and long, so I wasn't going to let it ruin my weekend!

I was so glad that Brendan got to join us in Arizona for the weekend after my birthday. We got to celebrate my birthday just days after and he got to take part in his first big Goldstein family event.

This was the first time our family had been together since Winter Break last year. I'm so lucky to be able to be able to see them so often.

OOTD: Mixed Metals

My third Rocksbox came a couple weeks ago and I've been wearing all the items regularly since then. My favorite are these earrings, and I love the gems on this necklace. The bracelet fits a bit strange and the necklace is a bit long, but I loved putting together this outfit to showcase the jewelry. I found it interesting that my Rocksbox stylist sent me three different pieces in three different colors of metal, but I think they went together fairly well. It can be fun to mix and match silver, gold, and bronze.
