Spaces and Faces: Lauren

My little sister has one of the most unique and beautiful senses of style. Everything in her life is hand-picked with thought, which makes getting presents from her a real treat. Her room is the perfect demonstration of her style and holds everything she loves in it.

OOTD: J & J Forever

Two weeks ago, my cousin Jenny married the love of her life. I was so fortunate to be able to join them and celebrate their love with some of my favorite people in the world: my family and Brendan. We dressed ourselves to the nines and spent the evening dancing and eating and generally having a good time.

I spent months searching for the perfect dress and accessories. After all, it's not every day that your closest cousin gets married! I finally found a dress from ASOS after some non-response on Poshmark. I actually ended up getting a different dress from the website than I'd ordered, but at least it was still red and long, so I wasn't going to let it ruin my weekend!

I was so glad that Brendan got to join us in Arizona for the weekend after my birthday. We got to celebrate my birthday just days after and he got to take part in his first big Goldstein family event.

This was the first time our family had been together since Winter Break last year. I'm so lucky to be able to be able to see them so often.

Sister, Sister: A Day at the Park

As much as I love living in Seattle, I miss my home and my family sometimes. I miss my sister especially, because it's hard being away from your best friend for long periods of time. Luckily, we're only 6 hours by car away from each other, so we do get to see each other on occasion. This week, Lauren came to see me on her days off.

We wandered over to the Washington Park Arboretum (perks of having a car in the city: more adventure opportunities!) and set up a picnic space. I feel so lucky to have such a beautiful nature space so close to my urban dwelling.

We spent the day reading and snacking in the shade. Even Luxe laid down for a couple hours without trying to chase any squirrels!

After our day trip, we went back to Capitol Hill and went on a girls' night out and treated ourselves to some amazing Mexican food.

The Metolius River

One of my dad's favorite places in the world is the Metolius River. I grew up hearing stories about him and my mom fishing the Metolius, sometimes with me or my siblings strapped to their front. Since moving closer to the Metolius, my family has spent a lot more time visiting the river. We've spent half of the Father's Days there since moving to Central Oregon fifteen years ago. I was lucky enough to be home for Father's Day this year, and our family (minus Riley and plus Brendan) went up to the Metolius this year.

Brendan and I are so cute that my sister took the opportunity to take some pictures.

We've taken this family picture in the same place many times. It's so cute to see the difference between each picture as the years have gone by.

I also got to spend time with my cousins and their cute four-month-old babies. Brendan tried to get Luxe to act like Audrey, the baby on my lap, but Luxe wasn't going for it.

A Week at Harvard University

This spring break, I was lucky enough to spend the week with my cute boyfriend at Harvard. I loved exploring the Cambridge area and Boston with my best friend. The timing was also perfect because my parents and sister were in the area checking out colleges, so I got to see them, too! I've already posted about my amazing experience at the Her Campus Headquarters, but here are the rest of the pictures I took on the trip.

We had our first date night in months at this super cute restaurant.

Brendan was placed into his house at Harvard (sadly, there are little to no similarities between the Harvard houses and Hogwarts houses) just a couple weeks before I got there, so he got to show me around his home for the next three years.

My sister was so sweet to invite me to come on a college tour with her. I wasn't impressed by Boston University when I had toured it my sophomore year of high school, but this time around I was more than impressed. Plus, it was a really cool experience to tour one of my sister's dream schools with her.

My parents took me and Brendan out to dinner a couple times. The last night, we went to John Harvard's in Harvard Square.
